Hi--Those of you who were carefully watching The DaVinci Code may have noticed, on a wall of the Louvre, a fleeting glimpse of the framed Boy Howdy Band poster that they had in a few scenes. We attach a screen capture from the DVD for those who missed seeing it.
We are in contact with John "Magic Fingers" Klingler, former lead guitarist of that well-known band, to see if we can persuade him to write up a short history of the group and are hoping that he will comply. The July, 2002, write-up in Rolling Stone magazine, while well intentioned, did not quite capture the aspects of the group that many of us so fondly remember. For example, the bouncer Pabst, who would fall like a toppled Sequoia tree on those who displeased him, was barely mentioned. The incident of the late motorcyclist who dared to ride a Honda motorcycle onto the parking lot of Al's Aquarium Bar was not discussed at all.
Here's hoping that Mr. Klingler will find the time to put together a nice article for our readers. I will thoroughly vet his submission to ensure that it has the proper number of outright lies and misleading statements.
I can do no less.
